Look at these Senior elves! They are busy making blankets for their kindergarten matches.
It's called Project Elf , which is a partner and mentorship between our Seniors and Kindergartners.
On the last day before Christmas recess, the Seniors will partner with the Kindergarteners, give them their blankets and a book, and participate in holiday-themed activities .

York’s Rios-Santiago and Balisciano Selected for the NYVBCA All-State Teams
York Central School Athletic Director Ed Orman is pleased to announce that two athletes on the York Girls Volleyball Fall 2024 team, have been named to the New York Volleyball Coaches Association All-State teams.
Congratulations to Senior Paola Rios-Santiago, third team (L), and Junior Lena Balisciano, fifth team (S).
“I am very proud of Lena and Paola's All State recognition. They were a huge part of our team's success this year. Setting and passing aren't the most glamorous parts of volleyball so I am happy to see them be recognized for excelling in their positions," commented Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach Kaitlin Kolb.

York second grade students and their teachers spent a day at the historic Genesee Country Village and Museum in Mumford.
The students were fascinated by their step back in time to 19th-century Western New York. They learned about different cultures and their traditions. They also learned how traditions began (like why we decorate Christmas trees) and about stores and baking in the 1800s.
Their eyes widened and sparkled as the students met 19th-century St. Nick. It was a magical day, with a fresh coat of snow on the ground!

Let's celebrate these fine Golden Knights for displaying the characteristics of the Knights Way!
Hats off to Kindergartner Axel for being thoughtful, First Grader Gracelyn for being responsible, Kindergartner Roland for being accurate and precise with his writing, and Fourth Grader Rose for caring by sharing her snack with a classmate.
Fine examples of The Golden Knights Way!

Fourth grade students are learning the story of our State’s earliest settlers - The Iroquois, referred to by their Native American title, the Haudenosaunee.
The Iroquois Nation settled in the area that is now Upstate and Western New York. Six tribes comprised the Iroquois Nation: From east to west they are Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca. The Seneca tribe established itself in our region and areas south of Lake Ontario.
Out of their study of the Iroquois Nation, students completed a research project that included a hands-on component to illustrate Native American life in New York State. Students chose from five different projects:
Build a model of an Iroquois longhouse, construct a salt or clay physical map showing the tribe’s locations, draw a mural showing the roles of Iroquois men and women, create a commonly used Iroquois toy, and build a model of an Iroquois or Algonquin canoe.
The students’ impressive projects were on display in the fourth grade hallway for all to view.
