How about these energetic early risers who are at school planting and tending to the raised bed vegetable and flower gardens in the courtyard. Mrs. Lippold and her Garden Club students also tend to the compost bin. They gave it a hearty "Golden Knights" turn this morning...which is basically like spinning the Wheel of Fortune!

It is with great pride that we announce the winner of the 2024 Lariton Award, Junior Liam Ezard. Middle/High School Principal Mrs. Peet presented the award at an assembly for all middle/high school students. "It is my honor today to present the Lariton Award this year to a student who embodies the qualities that made Anthony M. Lariton a part of our YCS history. During Mr. Lariton's 28-year career at YCS he held many jobs. His career began as a teacher, then as a school counselor, and until his death in 1975 he was York High School Principal. During these many years Mr. Lariton modeled the qualities that make this award York's most prestigious. This award in his memory looks for a person who shows outstanding citizenship as a member of the school community, who shows respect to fellow students and who is a person who understands the true value of an education. This person is also someone who has the knowledge that courtesy is the golden key which unlocks each door of life. As an outstanding member of their class, the award recipient mirrors the qualities of Anthony M. Lariton-Educator, Gentlemen and Friend. It is with great pleasure that I present the 2024 Lariton Award to Junior Liam Ezard," Mrs. Peet said.
